Mark Farrelly, Christopher Corcoran, David Byrne and Niall Byrne pleaded not guilty to false imprisonment and robbery at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 30 January 2018. The charges relate to the alleged kidnapping of four members of the Richardson family at their Raheny home on 13 and 14 March 2005, and the alleged theft of €2.28 million from Paul Richardson and Securicor.

The trial heard evidence from cash-in-transit worker Paul Richardson, who described armed men entering his home and pointing a handgun at his teenage son during a panic attack.
