Andrew and Joanna Law won their appeal over a €192,000 investment loss in the High Court on 21 January 2015. The couple had invested €800,000 in the Evergreen Fund after selling property and later complained that the product was unsuitable for their needs.

Ms Justice Baker found that the Financial Services Ombudsman had made serious errors in reasoning and analysing the evidence. The court therefore set aside the Ombudsman’s decision rejecting the couple’s complaint that they had been mis-sold the financial product.
