The Labour Court has affirmed a finding that Peter Gleeson’s unfair dismissal complaint against Go-Ahead Ireland Bus Limited was not well founded. The Court signed its decision on 16 September 2026. Gleeson was summarily dismissed after admitting he used a mobile phone while driving a bus. He argued that the dismissal was disproportionate and that the investigation and CCTV use were unfair. The Court found the phone use posed a serious safety risk and that fair procedures were followed, including an opportunity to view the CCTV. No monetary award was recorded.
