The Labour Court found that Cuan Mhuire Teoranta breached the Payment of Wages Act by failing to pay Ophelia Malik for work on 2 and 3 February 2015. It directed the employer to pay her €100 compensation within six weeks, overturning the Rights Commissioner’s decision that there was no jurisdiction. Malik said she received no payment for those two days. The employer argued that she had received all pay due, including three additional days’ pay. The Court’s determination was dated 21 December 2015.
