Labour Court recommends closure after Garda worker’s bullying appeal fails

The Labour Court recommended that An Garda Síochána and a worker accept the closure of a dispute after the worker’s appeal over a workplace bullying finding failed. The recommendation was signed on 2 October 2025. A co-worker’s complaint that the worker ignored their greetings on four occasions was initially dismissed, then upheld on appeal under the employer’s bullying policy. The worker argued that he was not given the appeal grounds or a chance to respond. An Garda Síochána said it followed the agreed policy. The Court found the employer had complied with it and recommended that the parties accept the matter as closed.
