The Labour Court recommended redundancy terms for 12 Catering Workers at Aramark, including three weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory entitlement for workers previously employed directly by the client company. The recommendation was signed on 23 November 2020. The Court recommended two weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory entitlement for workers with more than two years’ service who had never worked for the client company. For workers with less than two years’ service, it recommended accepting Aramark’s offer of an ex-gratia payment of two weeks’ pay per year of service. The union had sought four weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory entitlement, arguing that some workers were entitled to terms agreed by AIB in 2012. Aramark said those terms had not transferred to it and supported its offer of two weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory entitlement.
