The Labour Court recommended that Aes (Ireland) Limited Trading As Aes Waste pay workers covered by the claim their stopped 2017/18 safe-driving bonus after the Workplace Relations Commission process concludes. It also recommended that any issues over the 2018/19 bonus be finalised through that process. The dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union concerned whether depot criteria alone governed the bonus or whether workers also had to meet individual criteria. AES accepted that the criteria for receiving or not receiving the bonus had not been written down. In a recommendation dated 27 May 2019, the Court also recommended that the parties return to conciliation to clarify individual criteria for the 2019/20 scheme.
