Labour Court recommends talks over Basf move to monthly payroll

The Labour Court recommended that Basf and the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union Services Industrial Professional Technical Union meet without delay to discuss their dispute over the move from weekly to monthly payroll. The recommendation was signed on 23 May 2017. The union said the interim payment system remained the agreed arrangement under the parties’ collective agreements. Basf said the transition was not intended to continue indefinitely and linked monthly pay to its share scheme. The Court said the parties disagreed over the meaning of clause 5 in their 2013 agreement and could refer any unresolved issues back for a definitive recommendation.
