The Labour Court recommended that HSE West create two health care assistant posts by 31 May 2017 and appoint the two workers who took part in a pilot scheme. The recommendation was signed on 10 April 2017. HSE West and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union agreed that agency hours should be converted into two posts, but HSE West said it needed to backfill the workers’ attendant positions. The Court recommended that the posts be created by the deadline regardless of whether backfilling was completed.
