The Labour Court recommended that Valeo Foods Ireland Trading As Batchelors increase workers’ pay by 2% for the period from 1 August 2014 to 31 December 2015. It also recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept the Labour Relations Commission proposals of 11 September 2014, as amended in local negotiations on 29 September. The recommendation was signed on 12 February 2015. The union had sought a 2.5% increase over 18 months, citing a pay freeze since 2008. The employer had offered a 2% increase over two years in return for agreement on proposals that the union rejected by ballot.
