Labour Court recommends removing worker’s warning at The Intolligent

The Labour Court recommended that The Intolligent rescind and expunge a worker’s “first and final” warning after finding that the disciplinary process was unfair. The recommendation was signed on 28 April 2014. The Court said the employer had limited the union’s representation to opening and closing statements, an unreasonable restriction given the seriousness of the matter. It also found the warning disproportionate, noting there had been no previous disciplinary issue.
