The Labour Court recommended that Senaca Group meet the cost of Private Security Authority licences introduced in May 2013 for union members in its cash-in-transit division. The recommendation was signed on 10 December 2013. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said employers across the industry paid the licence costs. Senaca Group argued that paying for its staff’s licences would be too costly and that workers could take their licences to another job. The Court found merit in the union’s claim.
