The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation for mediation in a workplace dispute at Our Ladys Childrens Hospital Crumlin. The decision was signed on 12 December 2013. A worker had appealed the recommendation, seeking an external investigation into workplace difficulties. The union said he feared continued unfair treatment and raised concerns about changes to his computer-based work. Management said it accepted an internal investigation’s recommendations, offered mediation and later provided the worker with an office. The Labour Court upheld the recommendation that management’s offer of mediation be accepted by all parties.
