The Labour Court recommended that Park Developments (Dublin) Limited pay eight former construction workers an ex-gratia redundancy payment of two weeks’ pay per year of service, capped at €600 per week. The recommendation was signed on 3 November 2011. The payment would be in addition to statutory redundancy already paid, in three equal instalments due on 1 December 2011, 1 June 2012 and 1 January 2013. The Building and Allied Trades Union and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought enhanced terms, arguing the company remained profitable. The company said it faced serious financial difficulties and was operating under NAMA supervision.
