The Labour Court recommended that Health Service Executive-West pay a worker €3,214 in full and final settlement of a compensation claim after Our Lady's Hospital Ennis closed. The recommendation was dated 27 September 2010. The worker, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, said she had been appointed to the hospital when it closed in 2001 and was excluded from compensation received by nursing colleagues who moved to community settings. HSE-West said her assignments had been at Avonree House since 1996, so she did not qualify under the closure agreement. It also said she received a location allowance until retiring in 2009. The Court cited her employment history and the HSE's handling of similar cases in recommending payment.
