The Labour Court recommended that Tornier Orthopaedics Ireland Ltd increase its relocation lump-sum offer to €3,000 in three phases for workers moved from Dunmanway to Macroom. It also recommended a retrospective 2.5% pay increase from 1 May 2009. The recommendation was signed on 29 July 2010. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought €8,000 per person, a 4% pay increase and a redundancy option. The Court rejected the 4% claim and said workers who had raised particular difficulties with the union before the hearing should use the company’s offer to consider accommodating them.
