Labour Court recommends revised promotion terms at Central Bank

The Labour Court recommended revisiting working hours for staff promoted at the Central Bank of Ireland, with an assimilation mechanism to offset the effect on hourly pay. It also recommended keeping the existing flexitime scheme through Bank Professional 3, agreeing arrangements for Bank Professional 1 and 2, and making transitional arrangements for staff promoted above Professional 3. The recommendation was signed on 29 July 2010. The dispute with Unite the Union concerned changes to working hours and flexi-leave for staff promoted to professional and administrative posts. The Court said changes should be made through normal industrial relations processes, and recommended formalising emergency cover arrangements and concluding discussions within three months.
