The Labour Court recommended that Dulux Paints Ireland offer €500 per affected sales representative to settle a dispute over relocation payments after the company moved its offices and warehouse from Crumlin to Tallaght. Its recommendation was dated 20 October 2008. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued sales representatives should receive the package given to staff moving between the sites, citing longer journeys and the treatment of marketing staff with company cars. Dulux said the sales representatives were not office-based, rarely needed to visit the office, and had company cars and reimbursed expenses. The Court found the earlier agreement did not cover the sales staff and that the company had acted properly and in good faith. It recommended the company offer the payment and the union accept it, payable in December 2008.
