The Labour Court recommended acceptance of the company’s proposals in a pay-parity dispute involving Cadbury Ireland Ltd workers at Rathmore and colleagues at Coolock. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union represented the Rathmore workers. The company said the proposals would offset the cost of a claimed 3% increase through future efficiencies. The Court said existing flexibilities could not justify the increase and recommended further discussions on implementation. It also recommended arrangements for suitable alternative jobs within the plant for workers displaced by outsourcing. The recommendation was signed on 18 April 2008.
