The Labour Court recommended a priority job evaluation for three technical assistants at University College Cork to assess whether their roles should be regraded. It said the evaluation should be completed by 29 February 2008. The recommendation was issued on 11 December 2007. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the assistants’ duties had changed over time, including more research work and animal procedures. The College said their grade had received a substantial pay increase through benchmarking and that the role differed from Technician (Class II).
