The Labour Court recommended an independent evaluation of employment terms for technicians represented by Services Industrial Professional Technical Union at Beru Electronics GmbH, to be completed within three months. The recommendation was dated 1 November 2006. The union’s claims covered pay scales, service pay, shift allowances, overtime, annual leave calculations and bonus arrangements. The company said its existing terms were competitive and warned that increased costs could affect employment at its Tralee plant. The Court said an evaluation was the appropriate way to address the claims; unresolved issues could return for a definitive recommendation.
