Labour Court recommends Aluset apply industry pension scheme terms

The Labour Court recommended that Aluset Ltd apply the replacement Printing Industry pension scheme to union members who wished to join and pay outstanding employer contribution arrears from 29 May 2005. The dispute with Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, Printing Trades Branch, followed the company's introduction of a PRSA arrangement instead of the industry scheme. The Court said employees could choose whether to join, but once they opted in the employer had to apply the scheme's terms. The hearing took place on 24 February 2006; the recommendation was dated 16 March 2006.
