The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for pay equity across Forfás’s Level F grade. The union sought to extend the value of a car allowance, consolidated into the pay scale, to staff outside the ex-ABT Grade 8 group. Forfás argued that its agreement with the union had resolved a long-standing claim for the distinct ex-ABT Grade 8 group. The Court said the wider claim fell outside the no-cost-increasing-claims clause in Sustaining Progress and was barred under that agreement. The recommendation was signed on 24 October 2005.
