The Labour Court recommended that PJ Carroll &Co Ltd concede the union's claim for enhanced redundancy terms and pay €6,350 to each of two former workers. The recommendation was signed on 19 October 2005. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought to have terms from an earlier recommendation applied to the workers. PJ Carroll &Co Ltd argued that the earlier recommendation did not apply because the workers had left before it was issued. The Court said the settlement was unique to this case and had no bearing on any later or current situation at the company.
