In 2004, the Labour Court recommended that St Catherine’s College regrade a worker who was secretary to the college president from Staff Officer to Executive Officer (Civil Service). The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union said the worker had taken on additional duties since 1998. The Court found the claim was not barred by public sector pay agreement rules and considered comparable posts at other colleges and the worker’s additional duties.
