In 2004, the Labour Court recommended that Go Plant Environmental (Ireland) Ltd introduce a subsistence allowance for its drivers and apply pay increases in line with Sustaining Progress II from 1 August 2004. The Agemo Trade Group had also sought a new hourly pay structure and overtime premia. The Court did not recommend the union’s proposed €13.20 basic hourly rate, finding drivers’ average earnings substantially exceeded the guaranteed minimum. It also did not recommend the overtime claim, noting the existing system paid enhanced rates for some hours. The recommendation was signed on 22 September 2004.
