The Labour Court rejected the Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union’s claim for a separate Top of Scale Holiday Option for 18 craft workers, including the option to take the extra week a day at a time. In a recommendation dated 5 August 2004, the Court said separate arrangements were not warranted. It recommended consultation with interested groups when introducing or restructuring company-wide benefits.
