The Labour Court did not recommend the 15% pay rise sought by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for shop-floor workers at N.N. Euroball Ireland Limited. In a recommendation signed on 6 August 2004, the Court said the company’s rates were not out of line and recommended that workers accept its developing bonus scheme. The Court also recommended that the company complete its review of rewards for upskilling by the end of 2004. It recommended sick pay of 30 working days after one year’s continuous service, a change to the illness notification rule, and reviews of two sick-leave conditions. It said the company’s grievance and disciplinary procedures should allow union representation when an employee wants it.
