The Labour Court recommended that Vhi’s pay review reflect comparator pay movements to September 2003, on condition that its proposed voluntary performance-related pay scheme was accepted at the same time. It also endorsed additional progression steps offered to longer-serving staff at Levels 2 and 3, subject to acceptance of the scheme.
Vhi and Amicus MSF disputed the timing and terms of a review that was due in 2001 after members rejected an earlier performance-pay proposal. The Court did not recommend changing the requirement to work an extra 19 minutes a day and said the package should go to a union ballot as a whole. It signed the recommendation on 23 March 2004.
