In 2003, the Labour Court recommended that Slaney Foods International Ltd and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union initially adopt the pay agreement associated with Sustaining Progress. The union had sought improvements to pay and conditions, including changes to attendance bonuses, sick pay and pension provision. The Court said there had been no real negotiations and that the claims did not appear to be based on comparisons with analogous employment. It made no recommendation on those specific claims at that time. The recommendation was signed on 12 December 2003.
