Labour Court recommends 2% construction pay increases from due dates

In 2001, the Labour Court recommended that the 2% pay increases sought for building workers under revised Programme for Prosperity and Fairness terms be paid from their due dates. The recommendation was signed on 25 May 2001. The Ictu Construction Industry Committee sought the increase, while the Construction Industry Federation argued a collateral agreement precluded further cost-increasing claims. The Court found the claimed increases were provided for by the PPF and were not precluded by that agreement.
