The Labour Court recommended that University College Galway improve its offer to £20,000 per individual associated with the Irish Medical Organisation's allowance claim, in full and final settlement. The recommendation was signed on 4 May 2001. The supplementary recommendation followed an earlier decision, LCR16403. The Court said payment of the allowance in only two of Ireland's five medical schools was not by itself enough to justify extending it. But after prolonged discussions and an expectation of some concession, the Court recommended the improved offer.
