The Labour Court did not recommend concession of the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s redundancy claim for two UniPhar plc general operatives, in a recommendation dated 25 July 2000. The claim followed the closure of the galenicals area. The union said warehouse work was not comparable and sought redundancy packages. UniPhar said the workers had been offered alternative jobs with the same pay, hours, terms and seniority.
