The Labour Court did not recommend that Fujitsu Shinko Microelectronics Ltd grant improved pay and conditions to 16 team leaders. The recommendation was signed on 14 June 2000. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought an improved salary structure, merit awards and access to transfers between sections when team leader vacancies arose. The company employed 400 workers. The Court accepted that the team leaders’ roles had changed in some ways, but found the changes had not increased their responsibility enough to justify the claim.
