In 2000, the Labour Court recommended that Akzo Nobel(Crown Berger Ireland Ltd) acknowledge the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's interpretation that temporary staff could be employed from April to September, then agree to extend the period to February through October. The recommendation was signed on 7 April 2000. The Court also recommended that temporary workers with more than six months' service receive the permanent employee rate thereafter. It did not recommend the union's claim for Grade 1 pay for computerised tinting, except for employees already red-circled on that rate.
