The Labour Court recommended that a Bus Eireann worker’s continuous service be deemed to have begun on 1 January 1963 for pension purposes. It did not recommend conceding his claim about promotion procedures, having regard to an agreement between the company and the relevant union. The Court said the worker’s first year of continuous employment could not be established precisely because of the time that had passed. The recommendation was signed on 10 April 2000.
