In 2000, the Labour Court recommended against conceding union claims for improved sick pay, pensions and service pay at Odlums Limited. The recommendation was signed on 24 February 2000. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and the Marine, Port and General Workers' Union sought changes to pension terms, sick pay and service pay for about 65 employees. Odlums said its schemes were in line with comparable employment standards. The Court said the information did not show the pension and sick-pay schemes were out of line with the agreement's standards and recommended against conceding the claims.
