The Labour Court recommended an interim rate of £7.20 an hour plus a 15% bonus for seven maintenance workers at Henry Denny & Sons in Tralee. The recommendation also applied pro rata to a maintenance helper on a personal-to-holder basis, pending the completion of restructuring negotiations. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought £10.17 an hour; the company had proposed £6.80 plus a 20% bonus. In a recommendation dated 3 December 1999, the Court said changes already undertaken or agreed supported the interim rate.
