The Labour Court found that a worker had been unfairly dismissed by Centra Quickstop and recommended compensation equal to four weeks’ gross pay and an adequate reference. The recommendation, dated 7 October 1999, followed a complaint referred by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The Court was not satisfied that the worker had been made fully aware she was on probation or given adequate and fair warnings. It also noted that the employer had not followed the Code of Practice on Disciplinary Procedure.
