In 1999, the Labour Court said pay and allowance claims at Tipperary Community Workshop (The Moorehaven Centre (Tipperary) Limited) should be resolved at national level while the care worker profession was under review. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought national pay scales and allowances for several staff groups. The company cited its financial position and the estimated cost of the claims. The Court said the issues could be referred back for review in March 2000. The recommendation was signed on 6 October 1999.
