In 1998, the Labour Court recommended applying long-service increments from 1 June 1994 to the scale maximum then applicable to former Higher Agricultural Advisory Officers associated with the claim. Any resulting salary was to be adjusted, if necessary, to remain within the Grade II maximum including long-service increments. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued that restructuring had delayed eligibility; Teagasc said the agreement had been fully implemented. The recommendation was dated 2 September 1998.
