In 1998, the Labour Court recommended that Parceline recognise the Communications Workers' Union (C.W.U.) as the representative of its members among the company’s employees. The union said it represented 75% to 80% of the workforce and sought recognition and negotiating rights. Parceline said the Transport and General Workers' Union represented its employees in the UK and that further union representation was unnecessary. The Court recommended recognition for employees who were members of the C.W.U. The recommendation was dated 9 April 1998.
