In 1998, the Labour Court did not recommend concession of an instructor's claim that Fas had unfairly allocated access to a higher pay scale. The instructor, who had 19 years' service, argued that employees with less service had been appointed to the scale. Fas said appointments followed an agreement negotiated with SIPTU and accepted by a majority of staff. The Court said Fas had acted properly in applying the agreement. The recommendation was signed on 15 April 1998.
