Labour Court recommends comparable roles to set Wesley College catering manager's pay

In 1998, the Labour Court recommended that Wesley College and Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union identify comparable public and private sector jobs and negotiate an appropriate rate of pay for the college's catering manager. The recommendation was signed on 16 April 1998. The Court said the parties' 1987 agreement did not clearly establish how the manager's pay should move, but pay rates for catering officers elsewhere should be considered. If the parties could not agree, they could refer the matter back to the Court.
