In 1997, the Labour Court recommended that Cahill May Roberts pay a worker an additional week’s wages after finding that the manner of her dismissal did not accord with good industrial relations practice. The recommendation was signed on 27 November 1997. The worker had been hired through a recruitment agency for temporary summer work and was dismissed after four days. The company said she was unsuitable because of her attitude and behaviour. It had already paid one week’s wages in lieu of notice.
