In 1995, the Labour Court recommended that Biscuit Makers Limited pay a worker £100 in full and final settlement of her unfair dismissal claim and provide a reference reflecting the absence of complaints about her work. The recommendation was signed on 9 February 1995. The Court found she had received no satisfactory explanation for her dismissal during her five months with the company. Biscuit Makers said she was dismissed under a probation clause and had declined a week's pay in lieu of notice. The employer did not attend the hearing, so the Court heard only the worker's evidence.
