The Labour Court did not recommend conceding Mandate’s claims for Aer Rianta sales assistants at Dublin Airport: compensation for possible commission losses under a new sales-control system and including compulsory overtime in holiday pay. The recommendation was signed on 11 July 1994. The union said the sales-control rules added responsibilities and could reduce commission, and that workers should not lose pay during annual leave because of compulsory early starts and late finishes. Aer Rianta said sales and commission had increased and workers received an average holiday commission payment. The Court found no actual earnings loss under the sales-control system and did not find in favour of the holiday-pay claim, taking account of the existing agreement.
