Labour Court recommends Nicholls Ltd. recognise transport and general workers’ union

The Labour Court recommended that Nicholls Ltd. recognise The Amalgamated Transport and General Workers’ Union and negotiate with it on issues raised for its members. The recommendation was dated 19 February 1993. The union sought recognition to raise workers’ concerns about different pay rates, shift changes and overtime. Nicholls Ltd. said only a small minority wanted union representation and that it preferred to resolve workplace issues locally.
