In 1992, the Labour Court recommended that Clayton Love Distribution Limited implement its pay proposals for six administration workers represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation, signed on 30 November, set implementation from 1 June 1992. The Court also recommended increasing annual leave from 19 to 20 days, subject to acceptance and staff cooperation on operational implications. It did not concede the union's sick-pay claim, saying the company-wide scheme was not appropriate for a claim by one section. The company cited its 19.1% contribution to the non-contributory pension scheme in opposing the pay-scale claim.
