In 1992, the Labour Court recommended raising the late-finish allowance for part-time workers at the Cork Greyhound race track to £1.37, while rejecting claims to restore higher pay rates and compensate lost earnings. The dispute with Bord Na Gcon and Services Industrial Professional Technical Union followed computerisation of the tote, which reduced earnings and the number of nights workers were rostered. The Board said staff had no guaranteed earnings and it needed to control costs as revenue declined. The recommendation was signed on 16 November 1992.
